Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook1
- Improved scalability and performance of data synchronization between Outlook Client and Domino. Data is now interchanged using the native Notes/Domino replication technology (NRPC), thus enabling advanced features such as streaming replication, clustering and failover load balancing, and network compression to be used.
- Upgraded Installation Package and Client Upgrade. The install program now utilizes the standard Windows™ MSI installer. Installation will now launch a setup program similar to the one used for the Lotus Notes client. It will prompt for the minimum amount of information needed from the user. In the final steps, it will set up the needed location documents, connection documents, and notes.ini settings that are needed for Outlook to access the server.
- Outlook Plug-in. This component was initially introduced as part of the 6.0.2 release, providing Out of Office and change password capabilities. It continues to be the primary focus for configuring a user's mailfile preferences in Domino from Outlook. It was extended in 6.5.1 to provide access to Domino preferences, particularly around group scheduling, such as autoprocessing, setting free and busy hours, and mail and calendar delegation.
- Ability to sync calendar data to the Domino Server.
- Improved interoperability with Notes, iNotes™, and Outlook using Domino.
- Free busy-time lookup.
- Ability to have multiple clients accessing the same NSF Store.
- Notes decryption.
- Mail, calendar, and scheduling access from the Web.
